The new anticipated Nokia 9 PureView is HMD Global’s newest flagship phone under the Nokia brand the Finnish startup acquired several years ago. The company decided to make a limited edition of the Nokia 9 and soon will be available in the USA as well. The starting prices will be around
€599 in Europe, or $699 in USA, roughly converting to £535 and AU$980.
About these cameras, there are 5 Zeiss camera in the back of the phone with a depth sensor and the flash light, for a totla of 7 rings, making a look like a spider design. Three of the cameras are 12-megapixel monochrome cameras, and two are 12-megapixel RGB cameras, all f/1.8, 28mm.
Although being the first smartphone with 5 rear cameras, the bad part about the cameras is that they don’t do extra levels of optical zoom. Instead, they’re all meant to capture a massive amount of data for HDR and depth based photography. We tried to take some photos. The Images looked crystal clear, but it was taking a long time to process the photos. HDM in fact said that this will be improved before the release date.
The phone is built in with the previous version of the Qualcomm Snapdragon, the 845 which they claimed that is fully used to process the photos with the dedicated Light Camera Lux Capacitor processor. This is a bit of a bummer, but we are not sure if it could be either upgraded or improved by the release date.
The Nokia 9 PureView is also built in with a 20 Megapixel front facing camera which is even higher than the Samsung Galaxy S10. It features also a 5.99-inch 2K pOLED display, an under-the-screen fingerprint reader, face unlock via the phone’s front camera, wireless charging and IP67 water resistance.
At the end we could say that if you are looking to purchase a phone for the solely purpose of having high quality pictures and nothing else, in this case this phone makes sense for you. Here at Infot3ch we point towards performances overall on a smartphone. We will wait for more info to come at the release date of the phone so we can have some more hand on.
